2022 Husqvarna FC 450 Rockstar Edition Dyno Test

Horsepower and torque figures on Husqvarna’s limited-edition 450cc MX bike.

Husqvarna has an all-new flagship motocrosser with its 2023 FC 450. The last time the Austrian manufacturer’s standard 450cc motocross bike received a major overhaul was in 2019, so it’s right on track of a typical four-year production cycle we see in most competition dirt bikes. Featured in Husqvarna’s lineup since 2018, the FC 450 Rockstar Edition gives us an idea of what to expect in terms of updates the following year.

That once again rang true with the FC 450 Rockstar Edition as the 2022 model is equipped with most of the same major components as the standard 2023 model such as the engine, frame, subframe, bodywork, and more. With the same powerplant, it stands to reason the 2022 FC 450 Rockstar Edition’s dyno results should give us a strong idea of what to expect from the 2023 machine.

So how did the ‘22 special edition do? We documented 54.8 hp at 9,600 rpm and 33.3 pound-feet of torque at 6,900 rpm on our in-house dyno. Compared to the standard 2022 model, the FC 450 Rockstar Edition makes more horsepower from 9,100 rpm until each hits the rev limiter at around 11,300 rpm. An increase of 1.3 hp at peak is impressive for a 450cc motocrosser that was already plenty fast yet controllable to begin with.
