2021 Kawasaki KLX230R Dyno Test

How much power does Team Green’s 233cc recreational trailbike make?

Kawasaki offers two full-size recreational trailbikes in its KLX lineup with the KLX230R and KLX300R. Then there’s the KLX230R S, which features a 1-inch-lower seat height than KLX230R thanks to modified front and rear suspension but is the same as the KLX230R otherwise.

We took delivery of the 2021 Kawasaki KLX230R, recorded its measured wet weight of 253 pounds and seat height of 36.2 inches, then ran it on our in-house dyno. When all was said and done, it made 17.9 hp at 7,700 rpm and 14.4 pound-feet of torque at 6,100 rpm. Stay tuned to the site for our full review of this motorcycle as well as an upcoming comparison test between it and the 2022 Honda CRF250F.
