Tony Cairoli and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Part Ways

MXGP legend leaves Austrian firm after 14-year working relationship.

After 14 years of racing together on the world stage, Tony Cairoli and KTM have ended their working relationship. The Sicilian joined Red Bull KTM Factory Racing late in 2009 and won the MX1 (now MXGP) title in 2010 aboard a KTM 350 SX-F, then captured four consecutive championships thereafter. He was victorious once again in 2017 racing a KTM 450 SX-F.

Tony Cairoli has stepped away from his role as team manager of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s MXGP effort. Rumors are he will work for another European motorcycle manufacturer.KTM

Cairoli retired from full-time professional motocross competition at the end of the 2021 season. He was named Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team manager in 2023, and has now decided to take his post-racing career in a different direction. KTM and everyone at the Pierer Mobility Group thanked Cairoli for his energy, excellence, and the unforgettable motocross memories.
