If you've been searching for the most durable adventure glove on the planet, listen to this: I've put over 2,000 hard miles on the Apex Sport Glove in the past year, and I've probably gotten my $65's worth about 10 times over. Constructed of soft goatskin leather with super-strong stitching, the Apex looks more like a gardening glove than something you'd see racing through the desert, though it should strike a chord with simple, function-oriented riders. As far as holding up against natural wear and tear, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that will outlast this glove. The construction is excellent, and the fit and finish are right on par with what you'd expect from Troy Lee. I have slightly longish fingers and found the length of the TLD glove to be perfect, though I've heard some riders complain that they are sized a bit too big. TLD offers the Apex in S through XXL.Thankfully, I've yet to skid across the pavement in this glove, but based on its performance in the dirt I think the Apex would definitely do its job on-road. I'm lazy and have been washing this glove in the washer with the rest of my gear with no ill effects (I'm sure the leather deserves better), although I haven't been able to get out a gasoline stain on the leather that resulted from fueling a dirt bike at a car pump. The hidden knuckle and finger protection works well for minor branch hits, though the glove does get a bit warm at lower speeds in 100-plus-degree weather, even with the perforated top. Stretch panels and a soft interior helped the glove break in perfectly for my hand, but again I have to credit the superior durability for allowing the Apex to last long enough to break in so well. If you're in the market for the last adventure glove you'll ever need to buy, I can't say enough good things about the Apex Sport. -Chris Denison
