TruckShade
TruckShade

Simple, effective, compact, quick and inexpensive. These are all of the qualities of the TruckShade. It is a bed-mounted awning that goes up quickly, once you get it all set up, which took about 30 minutes of reading the instructions and finding the right lengths for the tie-off strings and good mounting points on the truck. Now I know the routine and everything sets up in less than five minutes, even on windy days that I'd never trust a stand-up canopy to last through. The attachment to the bed is through the side slots on the bed's top rail, and then it uses collapsible poles to gain rigidity. It curves down and attaches to the underside of the truck with another pair of strings. You have to be particular as to which direction you park your truck to get the most shade and there isn't a ton of room out of the sun, but the shade is plentiful for two guys, sitting in chairs, plus a cooler and the gas cans-stuff that prefers being out of the sun. And on those hot days when even a little shade makes a big difference, the TruckShade goes a long way. It can also be reversed and cover the bed of the truck if needed. Best of all, it comes down and packs away into a paper towel-sized roll-up and stuffs under the seat. You hardly know it's there until you want to use it. I've been using mine for almost a year now, and the $107.77 TruckShade is a permanent fixture in and on my truck. -Jimmy Lewis
