Jason Anderson Steps Away From Racing Indefinitely

2018 AMA Supercross 450SX Champion didn’t compete at the 2026 Daytona SX and will miss more rounds.

Twisted Tea Suzuki Presented by Progressive Insurance fielded one less rider than usual at the 2026 Daytona Supercross, and it was Jason Anderson who was absent at the iconic Florida race. Now, Pipes Motorsports Group (PMG) has declared that the 2018 AMA Supercross 450SX Champion will be stepping away from competition for an indefinite period to address personal, family, and ongoing medical matters.

This decision was reportedly made jointly by Anderson and his management in coordination with the race team. PMG states it respects Anderson and his family’s privacy and fully supports his decision, and that it will not make further statements about the matter at this time.

Prior to missing Daytona, the New Mexico native was ranked 10th in the 2026 450SX Championship standings, his best finish being at Anaheim 2 with a 4th place result. Another top 5 for Anderson came at the same venue (Angel Stadium) two weeks earlier at the series opener, where he finished 5th.
