Honda to Enter CR Electric Proto Dirt Bike in a Motocross Race

First attempt to race a Honda-developed electric motorcycle in competition.

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has announced it will enter a prototype electric motocross bike called the CR Electric Proto at the eighth round of the All Japan Motocross Championship, which will take place at Off Road Village in Kawagoe, Saitama, on Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29. At the controls will be Trey Canard, who currently serves as team advisor for American Honda Motor Co. Inc. The 33-year-old will compete in the IA1 division, which is the premier class of the series. Honda understandably didn’t release any details or specifications about the CR Electric Proto being that it’s not a production model, but did unveil photos of it from a few different angles, which can be viewed below.
