The two-time national champion edges out Josh Woods by 5 points after his sweep of both the 250 and 450 main events on Saturday night.Woods, racing for the Fun Center Troy Lee Designs Suzuki team, had his share of problems in Denver finishing up with a 12th in the 250 main event and a 15th in the 450 main event Saturday night, dropping him from the number one spot atop the overall championship. Woods currently sits second behind Demuth with 184 points and Team BooKoo Energy Honda pilot Tiger Lacey is on his heels in third with 181 points.Lacey is coming off an impressive ride in Denver where he captured a second place in the 450 main event Saturday night, placing him in a close battle for the top spot in the 450 class championship as Woods currently leads the with 100 points, Lacey second with 98 points and Demuth third with 96 points. For the 250 class championship it's the Babbitt Enxus Kawasaki young gun Brad Ripple who holds command of the chase with 94 points. Teammate Demuth is sitting in second place, one point behind Ripple and eight points in front of Sano Systems PPG Shogun Motorsports Tommy Hofmaster who raced to a pair of podium finishes Saturday in Denver to propel himself into the third spot in the 250 class points standings and fourth in the overall BooKoo Championship Points. The Dash For Cash points are also in a close race as Lacey and the BooKoo Honda hold on to top honors in front of Woods and Demuth with four points separating the three. With the racing action so close, it's anyone's guess who will come out on top at the conclusion of the season and will make for some very exciting racing as the series heads to West Valley City, UT and the E Center December 2-4, 2005.Advance reserved discount tickets are on sale now for the E Center at SmithsTix outlets, www.smithstix.com, participating Kawasaki dealers or by calling 800.888.8499.
