KTM Reveals the 950 Super Enduro Dirt Bike - Feature Review - Dirt Rider Magazine

BMW isn't the only company looking at large displacement, high horsepower dirt bikes. KTM has shown their hand with a prototype 950 Super Enduro. Based largely off of the 950 Super Motard and using the 950cc V-Twin out of the Adventure, this bike will not be hurting for horsepower.Works WP suspension and wheels off of the factory MX bikes grace a trellis-style frame. Presently the gas tank, shrouds and seat are lifted directly off of the new Super Duke, but these pieces are expected to be slimmed up to make them purposeful for off-road riding and racing.

Racing? Yes, the KTM has been raced against the BMW HP2 at the Erzburg Rodeo and at one round of the German Cross Country Championship. Team Boss Kurt Nicoll along with multi-time World Enduro Champ Giovanna Sala raced the "Desert Bomber" class at Erzburg, while Sala challenged the GCC race. There are even rumors of trying to bring back a large displacement twin cylinder class at the Six Days.

There are no immediate plans for production, but typically with KTM, if they are racing it, they'll be selling it within a few years.
