At the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan today, KTM released details on its two new adventure bikes—the 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R, both of which are set to hit North American dealerships in spring 2019. According to KTM, these all-new models are a direct result of customer feedback mixed with the brand's experience in the mid-capacity Travel Enduro market. Both machines are powered by a 799cc LC8c parallel twin, which was first seen in the KTM 790 Duke. KTM claims the engine has been tuned to deliver its torque lower down the rev range to fit the specific requirements of adventure riding, allowing for smooth acceleration and a 280-mile range from the 5.3-gallon fuel tank.

The two bikes have been developed in conjunction with the Red Bull KTM Rally Factory Racing team in an effort to provide a confidence-inspiring chassis with a low center of gravity and riding ergonomics to suit riders of all sizes and abilities. A full suite of rider-assistance systems are activated with a bar-mounted menu switch that is aligned to a full-color TFT display.
