How Much Power Does the 2026 Honda CRF250R Make?

Honda made big strides with its standard 250cc four-stroke motocross bike in 2025. Chassis and suspension revisions were the main talking points of the MY25 CRF250R, but its engine didn’t go untouched either with a more rigid crankshaft, redesigned airbox, straighter exhaust system, and new ECU maps. No changes were made to the CRF250R for 2026, and it performs similarly on our in-house dyno as last year, spinning 37.8 hp and 18.0 lb.-ft. of torque.

“The CRF250R engine has a light, free-revving character with excellent throttle response, but is slightly down on torque compared to its competition,” test rider Allan Brown said. “It revs as far as most of its peers and further than some, but lacks recovery if you bury it in a soft corner or get a little lazy on downshift on a turn that you might have thought you could carry more speed through.”
