How a Ducati Desmo450 MX is Made

Ducati video highlighting how its 450cc motocross bike is put together piece by piece in the factory.

Ducati is the newest player in the dirt bike game, and its Desmo450 MX is an exciting addition to the highly competitive 450cc motocross bike class and the off-road motorcycle market as a whole. There aren’t many in consumer’s hands yet, but the Italian concern is working to change that by building Desmo450 MXs as quickly as possible and shipping them to dealerships so consumers who are ready to buy one can do so right then and there.

Dirt Rider was fortunate to take a tour of Ducati’s global headquarters in Borgo Panigale, Italy. The unfortunate part is cameras aren’t allowed inside the factory, only in the Ducati Museum, so we weren’t able to capture any photos of bikes rolling down assembly lines or anything of that nature. The good news is Ducati is cool with having its own cameras in the factory and has released a video showing how the Desmo450 MX is built.

Watch the video above to see Ducati’s 450cc motocrosser come together, beginning with engine assembly followed by chassis being put together before the bike is run on the dyno and given a final inspection to ensure it’s ready for dirt.
