VIDEO Talking Supercross – The Hardest SX Skill?

One question, 7 top Supercross racers’ answers

Learning to ride a moto bike is tough. Learning to ride supercross is on a whole other level. While the dudes racing in stadiums every Saturday night make it look like second nature, at some point even the top Supercross racers had to learn to do what they do. Each obstacle has its own technique, each track is a different, and each racer has their own way of making it around the course as fast as they can. We grabbed Monster Energy/Knich/Yamaha Factory Racing's Justin Barcia and Cooper Webb, CR22 Racing's Chad Reed, Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin, Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing's Westin Peick, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Josh Grant, and Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen for a little history lesson.

Some of the racers, like Musquin and Reed, have been riding supercross since they were on 65s while most US-based racers probably didn’t ride a supercross track until they were pro or right before. Unlike any other form of dirt bike racing, every single obstacle demands total commitment and focus, which is intimidating even for the gnarliest of riders.
