Berm The Texas Motocross Chronicles - Dirt Rider Magazine

Berm
The Texas Motocross Chronicles

Berm is a nice, hardcover coffee-table book (available perfect-bound softcover) that gives a glimpse inside Texas motocross and the name riders produced there. It's far from a definitive treatise on the subject, but the chapters are easy reads, with nice insights into the lives of the riders and their careers. In addition, there are modern quotes from name riders about their fellow Texans. Probably the most impressive aspect of this book is the collection of photographs author Shand Garcia (who also produces Holeshot Magazine) dug up to illustrate the book. If you're an English major, you'll notice mistakes, but for any true moto fan this book will provide interesting reading. We won't spoil it, but you'll show every motohead you know the photos inside the front and back covers. If you aren't from Texas, it will help if you're a fan of Kent Howerton, Steve Wise or Steve Stackable. Many modern riders are featured as well. I liked it, and so has every rider I've shown it to. It runs $24.95 in hardcover and $20 in softcover plus postage and handling. -Karel Kramerhttp://www.holeshotmag.com817.763.9200
