How Much Power Does the 2026 KTM 450 SX-F Make?

Dyno testing KTM’s MY26 standard 450cc motocross bike for horsepower and torque.

KTM’s 450 SX-F engine is known for serving up lots of power delivered in a linear manner, and the 2026 model brings more of those same positive qualities. The Austrian manufacturer’s fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke 450cc single-cylinder mill in its standard-model 450 motocross bike sends 56.7 hp and 34.5 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheel, as measured by Dirt Rider’s in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer. Those figures are highest of the seven machines in our 2026 450 Motocross Bike Comparison Test, and highest of the 2026 model dirt bikes we’ve dynoed thus far.

“The 450 SX-F’s engine package is excellent,” test rider Allan Brown said. “It offers good all-around power that builds controllably. Roll-on is manageable and it revs well too. This powerplant is one of the best in class, and the only notable downside is it vibrates more than its competitors.”
