Marvin Musquin went 2-4 for 3rd overall at round 4

Marvin Musquin came into high point in 8th place in the 450 overall points. Up until High Point Marvin was averaging 10.6 points per moto in his first 450 Outdoor season. In the first timed practice Marvin and the rest of the 450 riders had to deal with a wetter than normal High Point track due to the heavy rain storm on Thursday night. Marvin tried the outside line in this turn so he wouldn’t get slowed down in the inside ruts. Marvin turned a 2:06.280 for 8th overall in practice 1.Photo by Rob Koy

Marvin turned a 2:03.252 on a quicker track in the 2nd practice. This gave him the 4th gate pic for Moto 1. Here Marvin goes down the famous Bradshaw Boulevard. It got rutted up very quickly because of the soft soil. The riders had to deal with some sketchy moments from the head shake they experienced all the way down the straight to the turn.Photo by Rob Koy

Marvin took a seat at his gate to either rest before the Moto or to visualize his start for the first Moto. Marvin has had good luck at High Point on the 250s, he went 1-1 last year for the win and won another overall a couple years ago.Photo by Rob Koy
Marvin got out to a good start in Moto 1. For the first two laps he ran in 4th place then got into 2nd place on the 3rd lap after passing Anderson and Tomac, who found the ground. Marvin would finish the Moto behind Roczen in 2nd place for his first 450 Outdoor Moto podium. Here Marvin takes the inside line up the triple before the 1st turn.Photo by Rob Koy

In Moto 2 Marvin making the pass on Justin Barcia in the roller section. Marvin said the track was awesome this year with it being softer and rutty. He said you have to be smooth and be able to choose good lines to go fast. He favors these kinds of tracks and is looking forward to the rest of the east coast rounds and hopes they will continue to make the tracks soft and technical.Photo by Rob Koy
Marvin ran in the top 5 in Moto 2 and finished 4th. Here Marvin just looked really comfortable and loose for Moto 2. Marvin said he did ride a little tight in the 1st half of Moto 1 then figured out to be smooth and loose on the bike and he felt much better and used that technique to finish on the podium.Photo by Rob Koy
Marvin scored a 2-4 for 3rd overall for his first overall 450 Outdoor podium. Now that the series has gone to the east coast Marvin is looking for the same kind of results for the rest of the season. He said that he does not feel any more pressure on him since he is the only rider in the KTM rig and is looking to make more progress as the season continues.Photo by Rob Koy
