Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin captured 4th overall on Saturday with 3-7 moto scores at the Southwick Motocross National for Round 7 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

In 450 Class Moto 1, Musquin got a great jump off the start where he vaulted his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition into 2nd place on the opening lap. Musquin dropped back to 4th place in the first few laps but soon made way his past Justin Bogle to claim the 3rd place position. Musquin held on to finish 3rd place in Moto 1.
In 450 Class Moto 2, Musquin got off to a top-five start where he settled into 4th on the opening lap. However, the 450 Class Rookie soon ran into an issue when he got stopped up behind another rider and eventually went down and dropped outside the top ten. From there, Musquin charged hard to make his way back up to 7th place, where he ultimately finished in Moto 2.

“The first moto I felt happy with my ride, I got a good start and felt like I had a really good flow,” Musquin said. “The second moto was a little more tough, I got caught up behind Justin Barcia and then I crashed and after that it was really hard to get back into a flow.” With 3-7 moto scores, Musquin finished 4th overall for the day where he now sits 3rd in the 450 Class Championship standings. The AMA Pro Motocross Championship resumes next Saturday, July 16, in Millville, Minnesota.
