Beta’s 250 RR X-Pro boasts some notable engine updates and relatively minor chassis revisions for 2026.Jeff Allen
The 250 RR X-Pro is powered by Beta’s carbureted liquid-cooled two-stroke 249cc single-cylinder engine. Its bore and stroke is 67.4mm and 69.9mm, respectively, and compression ratio is 13.2:1. Other features of this Italian mill are a Beta Progressive Valve (BPV) adjustable power valve system, case-reed induction, and oil injection (which eliminates the need to premix fuel).Jeff Allen
Measured on Dirt Rider’s in-house Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dynamometer, the 250 RR X-Pro produces 39.7 hp at 8200 rpm and 27.8 lb.-ft. of torque at 6800 rpm.Jeff Allen
Beta uses a Keihin PWK 36mm carburetor and Moto Tassinari VForce4 reed valve assembly.Jeff Allen
Accessing the airbox is quick and easy, and no tools are required to remove and install the air filter. Beta uses high-quality Twin Air air filters as its OEM supplier.Jeff Allen
All eight RR X-Pro models feature a six-speed transmission, and the 250 RR X-Pro’s gearing is 14/49.Jeff Allen
Front suspension was new last year in the form of a ZF Sachs Separate Hydraulic Chamber (SHC) 48mm coil-spring fork. It features a single-spring design, and is adjustable for spring preload, compression damping, and rebound damping.Jeff Allen
ZF Sachs shock was redesigned in 2025. This rear suspension is tunable for spring preload, low- and high-speed compression damping, and rebound damping.Jeff Allen
Beta updated to a larger 22mm rear axle for more stiffness and torsional resistance in the hopes it will improve performance when the wheel flexes.Jeff Allen
Nissin front brake caliper is smaller, claimed to be lighter, and adopted from the 450 RX motocrosser.Jeff Allen
Beta spec’d a new rear brake master cylinder last year, which features a larger reservoir to help keep fluid temperatures lower during heavy braking.Jeff Allen
There’s no doubt you’re going to get into some precarious situations with the 250 RR X-Pro, so Beta includes a sturdy front rescue strap.Jeff Allen
The 250 RR X-Pro comes prewired with turn signals and a horn, and Beta employs a compact dual-purpose module with engine start and stop buttons on the right side of the handlebar.Jeff Allen
Beta chose Maxxis MaxxEnduro tires for its RR X-Pro models, which are DOT-approved and mounted on Excel Takasago rims. Sizing on the 250 RR X-Pro is 80/100-21 front and 140/80-18 rear.Jeff Allen
A 2.5-gallon fuel tank is designed to be very low and not affect ergonomics of the cockpit.Jeff Allen
The 2026 Beta 250 RR X-Pro weighs 249 pounds wet on our automotive scales.Jeff Allen
