In all, Milner won six of the 12 tests, while Strang won just one. However, Strang’s super consistent performance was good enough to net the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing-backed rider second overall.

“I think this course fit me better than the last one,” said Strang. “The course was more flowing so you had to set up more going into them, as opposed to just point and shoot, which suited my style.”

Thad DuVall rounded out the podium on the strength of his final day’s performance. The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Husqvarna rider won three tests on Day Two and four of the final seven tests for the two days, however, a slow start on Day One kept the West Virginia rider from challenging for the win.

“I struggled early on during Day One, but I managed to pick it up and win the last test of the day,” said DuVall. “On the second day, I was able to win all of the Enduro Test, while Milner won all the Cross Tests, so it was tight racing, I just need to get off to a better start.”

Four-time national enduro champ Russell Bobbitt brought his FMF KTM 250 XC-F in for fourth. Bobbitt had some podium rides and even had a test win on Day One, but says he’s trying to get better on the second day of competition at these two-day events.

“The track is rougher on the second day and you kind of have to smooth out your style,” said Bobbitt. “But I’m working on it, and I think I’m getting better.”

Cory Buttrick made a few changes after Day One and picked up the pace on the second day. Combined with a more concentrated effort on hitting his lines, the suspension changes that Buttrick made on Wednesday night brought the SRT KTM rider a top five finish.

Buttrick was one of the few riders who didn’t come to Florida early to train.

“I’m kind of a fish out of water when it comes to sand,” said Buttrick. “But we typically only have a couple of sand races a year, so it’s not worth the time and expense for me to come down here early to train.”
