KTM recently unveiled its 2020 two-stroke enduro motorcycles, all of which are now fuel injected. Like its 250 XC-W TPI and 300 XC-W TPI counterparts, the 150 XC-W TPI now features Transfer Port Injection (TPI). Its new 143.99cc engine also has a new cylinder, updated exhaust port timing, a new cylinder head with an optimized combustion chamber and a new water temperature sensor, a new header pipe with an optimized shape for improved bottom-end power, a new muffler with aluminum brackets replacing the former plastic mounting system, a new muffler core, and lighter muffler packing for a claimed 60-gram reduction in weight.

Updates that are shared on the two larger-displacement bikes—the 250 XC-W TPI and 300 XC-W TPI—include a new exhaust system for improved performance with reduced weight and a corrugated surface on the expansion chamber for a more durable construction, a new CNC-machined exhaust port window for more precise port timing and consistent performance, a reworked power valve drive mechanism for improved performance, a new Pankl six-speed transmission made with a stronger, forged raw material, an additional ambient air pressure sensor for improved altitude compensation, and revised mapping for optimal power delivery and engine performance.

The shared engine updates on the 150 XC-W TPI, 250 XC-W TPI, and 300 XC-W TPI include a new Dell’Orto 39mm throttle body with reworked idle and cold-start systems for better adjustability of idle speed and cold-start enrichment, a new lithium-ion battery for better starting and reduced weight for improved handling, and a new airbox and intake boot for better airflow and air filter protection.

Suspension-wise, all three XC-W TPI motorcycles have updated WP Xplor forks with a new mid-valve piston for more consistent damping, new fork caps and adjusters, and revised settings to keep the front end higher for better rider feedback and improved bottoming resistance. The WP Xplor shock has also been updated with a new second piston and reworked shape of the sealing cup for better bottoming resistance, while new settings are designed to provide improved comfort.

The three fuel-injected two-strokes also share several chassis updates including a stiffer frame; new aluminum head stays for improved engine fixation; newly designed radiators with an optimized cooling system for more efficient cooling and 12mm lower mounting position for better handling; a 40mm longer subframe for increased rear fender stability; new bodywork; a new fuel tank; a reworked wiring harness and packaging for a more compact electrical system; a newly shaped seat for better ergonomics and comfort; and updated graphics.
