VIDEO: Ricky Brabec's Factory Honda CRF450X

We ride the Factory Honda CRF450X that Ricky Brabec uses to tackle the high speeds of the AMA Hare & Hound desert series.

In 2008, with the blessing and support of his mentor, Honda's Bruce Ogilvie (a multi-time Baja champion himself), Johnny Campbell took his years of racing knowledge and experience, recruited some of the most talented off-road racers in the business, and set about the task of winning championships for American Honda under the newly formed JCR/Honda banner. There aren’t that many true factory-backed off-road race teams in the AMA National Hare & Hound series, so when you get the invite to ride Ricky Brabec’s factory JCR Honda CRF450X, you take that offer immediately. Brabec won the AMA National Hare & Hound title in 2014 and switched to the JCR Honda squad for the 2016 season. He is currently the point leader in the series. We met JCR mechanic Benny Breck out in the CRF450X’s natural habitat of the Southern California desert to see just how good this factory off-road Honda could be.
