Rock Oil Strawberry 2

Rock Oil
Strawberry 2

I like the smell of two-stroke oil in the morning. Some oils more than others. So for sure when I stumbled upon Rock Oil's offering of a strawberry-scented mix, I had to give it a shot. Not to hand it a sweet-scented advantage I used it on my KTM 250 SX at the track and at the sand dunes. I mixed it at 32:1, like usual, and didn't tell anyone I was running anything unusual to see if anyone noticed. Nobody did. Sure, knowing what I was using I could sniff the slight scent of strawberry (more of a strawberry shortcake aroma, slightly burned) coming from the muffler. And when smelling the oil as I poured it into the gas, there is definitely a strong, beyond strawberry scent. As far as the oil doing what oil is supposed to, it seemed to do its job, even under the extreme loads of the dunes from what I could tell from a top end inspection. It burns as cleanly as anything out there. When mixing, it dissipates in the gas easily and tints it enough so that you can tell the gas has mix oil in it, though the dye is not as dark as some of my favorite blue-colored oils. It is priced $9.95 per liter which is right in the midrange for two-stroke oils. -Jimmy Lewis
