One way or another you're going to need a way to transport your gear to your favorite ride spot. Whether that place is a local MX track or a major trail system over 100 miles away, you're going to need some type of bag to pack up your favorite set of gear and keep it safe for the haul. If you don't like to wear your gear in the truck on the way to your riding destination, then Troy Lee Designs has the $159 stylish solution to replace your trash bag full of unorganized gear. The overall construction of this bag is very solid and is hardly showing any signs of wear after countless hours of bouncing around in the bed of my truck with gas cans, bike stands, toolboxes, air cans and even the bikes themselves. I've seen bigger bags out there, but this one is on the above-average size when it comes to storage space. At 33 inches long, 18.5 inches high and 15 inches wide, you get a good-sized main compartment where I was able to fit one to two sets of gear (including jersey, pants, socks and gloves), knee braces, a neck brace, a helmet, goggles and, on a good day, a chest protector. I have a good system down of how I jam everything into such a small space, and this gear bag was big enough to hold all that. The side compartments are easily big enough to fit your boots with no cramming and zip up easily because of this. A cool feature for this bag's boot storage is the heavy-duty rubber mesh material that is located on either side of each boot compartment. I did tear one of the mesh windows, but it was stuck on the teeth of a footpeg and I gave the bag a strong tug not knowing this. I've been careful since then and the others haven't torn, and the existing tear hasn't grown to become a bigger hole. When you're spoiled, like myself, and have numerous pairs of boots, these little windows are awesome because they allow you to quickly glance at what boot is hiding inside. If you aren't spoiled, then you can tell if your boots are dirty or if they need a good sponge bath. This also allows the stinky funk deep down in the sole of your boot to vent with some fresh air, keeping the aroma down to a minimum. You won't find any tiny, purpose-built pockets hidden on the inside of the backside of other pockets. I never end up using those anyway, and this bag is all about big, easy-to-access storage. There is one smaller pocket directly on top of the SE gear bag, and it's perfect for a small bottle of ibuprofen, medical tape, goggle wipes or a fresh pair of skivvies to slip into after a hot day of riding. The sewn-on handles are tough and built to last. I haven't seen any signs of the stitching pulling out, which is good because I'm known to pack a heavy, overstuffed gear bag. I possess the special skill of shoving all the riding gear I need from my helmet and goggles down to my boots into one bag. Some of the other bags on the market don't offer up the space, but the TLD SE Gear Bag Wheeled meets my needs. -- Chris Green
