In the realm of 250cc two-stroke off-road-focused dirt bikes, only five are carbureted and three of them come from Beta. In terms of performance, the 250 RR X-Pro sits in the middle of the Italian concern’s quarter-liter two-stroke off-road trio between the entry-level enduro of the 250 Xtrainer and competition-focused 250 RR Race.
The 2026 Beta 250 RR X-Pro weighs 249 pounds on our automotive scales and has a Dirt Rider-measured seat height of 37.0 inches. The third and final piece of empirical data we gathered before getting the Italian machine dirty was running it on our in-house Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dynamometer.
The 250 RR X-Pro’s carbureted liquid-cooled two-stroke 249cc single-cylinder engine sent 39.7 hp and 27.8 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheel. Compared to the 2024 model, maximum horsepower is identical while torque is increased by 0.6 lb.-ft. Beta stated one of its goals in updating this model’s engine for 2026 was to increase torque, and it accomplished that at peak.
