For the fast-paced, hit-and-sprint style of racing found on the BooKoo Arenacross circuit, the Chaplin Kawasaki/Factory Connection KX450F is precisely the kind of bike a racer wants. Ridden by team riders Billy Ainsworth, Robby Marshall and-for the final round of the series at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut-me, Chaplin's 450F is the perfect model of predictability and confidence on the track.Transforming the KX450F from a big-feeling aircraft carrier into a nimble jet fighter, Factory Connection completely dialed in this machine for the hard hits, tight turns and big jumps of the arenas. With only minor adjustments to the sag and compression, the suspension was soft enough to settle into corners but handled everything the stadium whoops threw at it. Traction was not a problem, as the Hinson/FMF MegaBomb-equipped, PR2-built engine was able to harness the Kawasaki's aggressive motor into a smooth, well-tuned package. An entire day before the race spent testing at the Mototown USA Indoor AX track confirmed just how hard the Kawi can charge. Smooth yet direct, it performed best when ridden aggressively, a testament to Ainsworth and Marshall's precise settings. As far as supercross-style 450s go, this is the best setup I've ever ridden in terms of usability and performance.
