Loretta Lynn's MX 2017 Day 3

The amateur action continues for Day 3

From 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the best of the best amateur racers threw it down on the historic race track for the 3rd day hoping to put themselves in championship contention in the coming days. Most of the 2nd motos are wrapped up and the stage is set for the final showdown in the coming two days. Here is a recap of racing on Thursday, Day 3.

At 7:30 a.m., Ty Masterpool once again took the top spot in the Supermini 2 class. His 1-1 puts him in perfect condition to wrap up the championship Friday and give TM racing their first ever Loretta Lynn’s championship!Jacob Souder
Husqvarna’s Jalek Swoll got a good start and won moto 2 of the Schoolboy 1 this afternoon. His 2-1 puts him in the points lead.Jacob Souder
So far this week RedBull KTM rider Derek Drake has been untouchable in the 250B Limited class. Even when coming through the pack he was found a direct route to the front.Jacob Souder
5x Loretta Lynn’s champion and Babbits Kawasaki racer John Grewe checked out from the field and won moto 2 of the Masters 50+. He is unbeaten so far this week in that class.Jacob Souder
It was all out war between these two for most of the 125c second moto. Luis Macias (79) and Jaden Ornellas (50) went back and forth for a few laps until Ornellas would fade and Macias took the win.Jacob Souder
Not sure if it were a bad start or a fall but somehow Star Yamaha’s Challen Tennant found himself climbing his way through the pack in 250A moto 2. Tenant won the first moto but this ninth puts him far behind Justin Cooper in points.Jacob Souder
The 51cc 7-8 Limited class here at the ranch isn’t messing around. Brazen Denver (pictured) and most of the field were absolutely sending it on the back table top. Wide-open, full commitment. Drew Adams has won moto 1 and 2 in this class.Jacob Souder
It wouldn’t be Loretta Lynn’s without the 51cc Shaft Dr LTD class. Ryder Boomquist is unbeaten so far this week in the class.Jacob Souder
A fantastic ride by Chapparral Suzuki backed Brock Papi from Groveland, FL as he won with a big lead in the 450B Moto 2. He sits in the lead of the class headed into moto 3.Jacob Souder
Supermini 1 battle! Kawasaki’s Dilan Schwartz and Ty Masterpool set a blistering pace in moto 2. Schwartz was able to hold off Masterpools advances all the way to the checkers for the win.Jacob Souder
Mexico’s motocross standout Felix Lopez has won both motos of the College 18-14 class.Jacob Souder
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Team Green racer Garrett Marchbanks has caught fire this week and has won all but one race so far this week he was competed.Jacob Souder
Rodney Carrier was spotted racing a 1981 Maico 490. When asked he told us that he qualified on a modern KTM but decided to race the vintage bike in the finals and that it was something he always wanted to do.Jacob Souder

It was a Team Green Kawasaki showdown in the 85cc 9-11 Limited class. Chance Hymas, Ryder DiFrancesco and Nicholas Romano, all Team Green riders, were in a heated scuffle the whole moto. Hymas finally got away and won the moto. He leads the points in the class.Jacob Souder
