When the gates dropped early Wednesday morning it marked the 7th annual James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship. Its inception in 2010 was effectively a replacement for the long running and historic spring national at Lake Whitney MX, a mere hour drive from Freestone. The race has grown in size and popularity over the years to a serious contender in the the amateur national circuit. With all class divisions and pro races combined there are 60 races scheduled in the first round with 1400 entries.

Think of Jett Reynolds as a little version of Eli Tomac. The Team Green prodigy absolutely punishes the track and muscles the bike around where he wants it. He is perfect so far this week.Photo by Jacob Souder

Wearing the Jimmy Johns logo head-to-toe is the recent addition to Team Green's 85cc stable Ryder Difrancesco. Quite small on the bike but lacking no speed as he won the 85cc 9-11limited this morning and took 3rd in the 9-13 class.Photo by Jacob Souder
