I found this handy folding step stool at the hardware store I work at. It is called an EZ Foldz Step Stool, and when not in use it folds flat to about the thickness of a couple issues of Dirt Rider. When unfolded it is nine inches tall, so it helps you step up into the back of a truck. Nine inches isn't super tall, so if you have a lifted truck, you'll need something taller. The stool is available at most hardware chains and is rated for 300 pounds, so it will handle a normal size rider pushing a bike up a ramp. At my store the EZ Foldz sells for about $15.
