A Little Push

After years of fighting with brake pads during wheel changes I realized I didn't need to. Before I remove the wheel (front or rear) I just put easy, steady pressure on the caliper. That will retract the piston and make it much easier to get the disc back between the pads. On some bikes you may need to remove the guard on the rear caliper to push it over. You must remember to pump the brake back up before you ride!Got a Trail Tip? Send it and some pictures to karel.kramer@sorc.com, subject: Trail Tips.
