I just wanted to drop you guys a line thanking you for the wonderful trials motorcycle coverage that has been a long time coming ("Trials By Error", December 2010 issue.) First, the rider's description of anyone starting in the sport was perfect. It takes so much practice to become a decent rider it's unreal, but once the basics are learned all skills can be applied to all forms of motorcycles. The sport is long overdue for coverage, and the rest of the motorcycle community is simply missing out on such a great sport. I've been riding trials for 15 years and I am still learning.Keep up the good work; you guys just earned many more loyal readers with stories like this.**Steve Berry

Thanks for the letter, Steve. I'm really glad that you liked the recent trials feature. To be completely honest, I was darn nervous about competing in that first trials event, but once I got into it I really felt like I'd discovered a well-kept secret. Trials is awesome, and you're dead-on about it being an excellent tool for improving your skills, no matter what type of riding you do. Since competing at the Donner National, I definitely feel like trials riding has made me a better trail rider, EnduroCross racer and motocrosser. In fact, I've been checking out used trials bikes online in hopes of getting more into the sport! Much of the off-road community is definitely missing out, and I think the best thing to do is exactly what you just did: Keep preaching the trials gospel and spread the word about quite possibly the most effective-not to mention fun-two-wheeled training tool on earth. Keep your feet up! -Chris Denison
