Team San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart On The Podium Again - Dirt Rider Magazine

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 23, 2009) - Team San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart landed on the podium for the tenth time this season at round 12 of the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, an FIM World Championship, Saturday night at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. For Stewart, action got underway on a track designed by Travis Pastrana that resembled nothing like Supercross fans had ever seen. Before a packed stadium of close to 56,000 fans, Stewart nabbed the holeshot in Heat Race 2 but went down on lap 1 and lap 6 and ultimately finished 9th for the direct transfer to the Main. Teammate Kyle Chisholm ran Heat Race 2 but was forced to the LCQ were he took 2nd and the transfer to the St. Louis Main.Even with the poor gate pick, Stewart catapulted into 2nd place by lap 3 and by lap 5 took the lead. By lap 9 Stewart had a 2-second lead over the second place rider but on lap 14 a small mistake forced Stewart down; he quickly remounted and made the charge to make up lost ground. Battling through lapped traffic and track design elements, Stewart finished an impressive second. Team San Manuel teammate Kyle Chisholm, qualifying for the eighth Main event of his rookie season, finished 13th."Well I've been trying my best these past four weeks and it has been tough - the back and forth that is - gotta give it up to Team San Manuel for sticking behind me. We'll be getting it together for Vegas though."Team San Manuel Yamaha Highlights/Daytona - Round 12 -
