Team FMF Suzuki Off Road Goes 1-2 At The GNCC - Dirt Rider Magazine

3/22/09, Morganton, N.C.; Team FMF Suzuki Off Road's Josh Strang took the third round of the 2009 Grand National Cross Country Series, the FMF Steele Creek GNCC, and put himself into the hunt for the GNCC Championship. After a three-hour battle of wheel-to-wheel racing, FMF Suzuki's Josh Strang sailed into the finish line to garner his first win of the 2009 season. His teammate Charlie Mullins took second to follow up his victory at the season opener."My Suzuki worked perfectly today," Said Strang of his ride. "After Mullins passed me by I realized I needed to click it up a gear and the RM-Z gave me everything I needed. It was a little easy, but not too easy."Mullins nabbed the Holeshot Award off the start and led early. The race was tight until the final lap of the race, as Strang battled it out with Mullins on a track that ran through the steep hills, bridges and mud of North Carolina. Strang was able to pick up the pace and finished nearly a minute ahead of teammate Mullins."I'm pretty happy with it," Mullins said. "I wish I'd won it but I'll take second today. I'll definitely be ready for the next race.""Mullins and Strang have been training and preparing for this GNCC Series for the entire off season," said Team Manager Mike Webb. "The hard work the whole team has put in is paying off now. A 1-2 finish in the GNCC is as good as it gets."With Mullins winning the opener and Strang winning round three, Team FMF Suzuki Off Road has won "2 outta 3" of the GNCC's run so far this season.
