Spinechillers Storm Lake Honda Baltimore Round 2 Race Report - Dirt Rider Magazine

1/9 - 1/10/209The fans at Baltimore's Mariner Arena were thrilled and chilled to an exciting weekend of Arenacross racing headlined by the Spinechillers Racing Storm Lake Honda team of Nathan Skaggs, Zach Ames and Willy Browning.Friday qualifying got things off to an exciting start when Zach Ames got up close and personal with the arena's dirt tack. Taking a spill in the preliminary round would sit the Shift backed rider out for the weekend. Ames commented " My shoulder got a little banged up, but I should be ok for next week." According to team Manager Dallas Avery, "Zach saw the witch doctor this week and he got him all fixed up". "Not sure what he did to fix him, but he'll be ready for Dayton".Willy Browning continued his visits to the podium by taking a 3-2 in Lites action during the Friday and Saturday night rounds. Consistent racing and pushing himself to the front leaves the MSR backed rider in first place in the Lites class. A solid performance as well for The WB in Arenacross action with a 6'Th place finish on Saturday night. According to an interview on www.Arenacross.com, Browning commented, "I'm lovin' it, I'm here to race, so let's go".Nathan Skaggs was hoping that lightning would strike twice keeping him in points contention and on top of the podium. With a fourth place start on Friday, Skaggs held his own until the end but ultimately finished in 6'Th. Nathan commented "I know that I have some more speed in me and am confident going into tomorrow night's race". Continuing to prove that holeshots are key to the series, Nathan started out front and never looked back taking his second career win in the Arenacross class. Skaggs noted "The first win was the hardest, now that I got that behind me I just need to keep my head down and remain focused".Team Manager Dallas Avery said after the winning weekend "We are really pleased with where we are after the first two rounds". "Our sponsors are really helping us out and the results of what the riders can do is starting to show".Arenacross moves to Dayton's Nutter Center for the next round of racing to be held on January 17'th.
