EnduroCross Round 4: Taddy Returns In Denver - Dirt Rider Magazine

ANAHEIM, Calif. (September 22, 2008) The 2008 AMA/Maxxis EnduroCross Championship Series, presented by Lucas Oil, is officially at it's halfway mark and the drama is building as the series favorite returns from injury and will jump right in the middle of a heated championship points battle between teammates! This Saturday, September 27, Denver's National Western Complex will see Round 1 winner, KTM's Taddy Blasuziak, back to reclaim the top spot on the podium while Monster Energy Kawasaki teammates, Ricky Dietrich and Damon Huffman, fight it out for the championship points lead!Taddy Blasuziak's relatively quick return is a testament to the tenacity and grit of this young polish trials-star. Just weeks after a horrific practice crash that required extensive facial surgery, Taddy will return to racing action in the Mile High City with a new look and a new goal... "win as many races as possible!" With his aggressive riding style matched with his indescribable skill on a bike, his presence will instantly be felt!Currently leading two national championship series' (EnduroCross and WORCS), Ricky Dietrich is on a role! Returning from the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Greece, where he finished higher than any other American in history (2nd Overall), and heading straight to Florence, South Carolina for Round 3 of the AMA/Maxxis EnduroCross, Dietrich battled to a podium finish with teammate Damon Huffman and Canada's Bobby Prochnau. Huffman won in Florence, his first in AMA EnduroCross competition and his first AMA national win since he put himself in the history books by winning $100K and the inaugural US Open in the MGM Grand over a decade ago! Going into Denver this weekend, only one point separates Dietrich and Huffman in the championship.Ten-time US Trials champ and Colorado transplant, Christini/KTM/BTOsports.com's Geoff Aaron will be looking to get back on-track at the National Western Complex, just minutes from his home in Bailey. Having just finished as the top American (5th) this past week in arguably the toughest off-road event on the planet, the Romaniacs event in Romania, Aaron is certainly capable of mixing it up up-front. Given the technical aspect of EnduroCross trials experience tends give a rider an advantage, and a couple young US Trails stars have found early success in this new sport. Look for Lucas Oil backed, Colton Haaker and Colorado's, Keith Wineland to be charging hard on Saturday night!"We have been looking forward to returning to Denver ever since last year's unbelievably exciting sold-out event," claims series boss, Eric Peronnard. "Looking at the rider line-up, this year promises to again be a highlight of the season and tickets are going fast!"EnduroCross tracks incorporate various elements of Off-Road racing into a supercross-style setting, including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole... and even a few special obstacles like giant tires! Known as the "toughest racing on two wheels," this indoor version of extreme off-road racing will keep you on your feet! The series, now its second season, will be captured by Lucas Oil and the Versus Network, to be aired on the popular grassroots racing program, the Lucas Motorsports Hour. Given the excitement and unpredictability of this indoor version of off-road racing, Round 4 looks to be an amazing event in Denver!
