Denver Endurocross Team GEICO Race Report - Dirt Rider Magazine

September 27, 2008 Denver Endurocross Denver, CO
The GEICO Endurocross boys headed west and put on yet another good show at the Denver Endurocross, held at the National Western Complex in Denver, CO.Following a similar schedule as the first 3 rounds, the day started early and ended late as the boys had to start early with qualifiers for the 2 stroke open and the expert classes and continued on through the LCQ and Dash for Cash.Ryan Rodgers started out the day with a great qualifier for both the Open 2 stroke and Expert classes as he won both qualifiers, moving him into the evening round. Ryan also turned one of the top 10 fastest heat laps of the day. Little brother, Eric also qualified early for the Expert class, but had to move on to the LCQ to get into the 2 Stroke Main. Eric had a few mechanical issues through the day that had the guys had to replace a broken main jet in between heats. During the qualifying sessions, JT and Josh both ran into some problems in the rock garden, putting them both just outside a qualifying position and pushing them on to the LCQ. JT was able to move onto the evening program in both classes, Josh qualified for the evening expert heats. The 2 Stroke Main went well for Ryan and JT finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively also qualifying them for the Dash for Cash. Eric was leading the 2 Stroke Main Event until the rock mountain got his number and caused him to throw his chain, placing him in 9th.After a long day of being on the bike, the Expert Qualifiers started. All 4 riders made went through both the Heat Race and the Semi with only Ryan forging on the LCQ. Unfortunately none of the GEICO boys made it into the Expert Main Event, but stayed strong and came close.Right after coming off of the track from the LCQ, Ryan had to jump right back on the line with teammate JT Bennett for one last chance to get into the main and the chance to win $500 in the Dash for Cash. Ryan was able to jump up on that podium in 2nd place and take home a $300 check. JT took a 7th place finish.Damon Huffman took his second overall win in the Expert Main Event, placing him the points lead. Geoff Aaron and Taddy Blazusiak rounded out the podium. The team would like to extend a special thanks to all of their sponsors:
