MDK/WWR's Voss, Rivas, And Mills Lead The Team In Minneapolis - Dirt Rider Magazine

Newbury Park, CA (March 19, 2008) - MDK/Wonder Warthog Racing (WWR) had a successful night on a dry track that contrasted sharply with Daytona's mudfest.Timed qualifying saw a much better track this weekend. In the Lites Class, MDK/WWR's Ryan Mills set the fastest qualifying time of the team. It was good to see Mills healthy after a bad crash last weekend.New MDK/WWR team rider Augie Leiber was less than a second off Mills pace followed by MDK Speed Equipment's Tyson Hadsell right behind him. All three riders made the night show with ease.Serious MX/Full Throttle/WWR's Mike McDade was looking to have a breakthrough weekend, but a cased triple hard in practice ended his night short with a bruised chest. TJ Tiffany just missed making the night show. He's riding better every weekend and is very close to qualifying.Colt Humphrey was chosen over more than 200 applicants to ride injured Jase Lewis' MDK Speed-Equipment's Honda CRF250. With 2 weeks off in the schedule, expect Colt to become very comfortable on the new bike come Dallas. In the Supercross class everyone made the night show that signed up. MDK Speed-Equipment/WWR's Manu Rivas lead the team in the first heat with MDK/WWR's Captain Heath Voss (sponsored by the Air Force and Mastercraft) qualifying directly into the main event. Also new to the MDK/WWR team is Supercross veteran Joe Oehlhof. Oehlhof is back racing the 450 class and has qualified for tons of main events! Look for him to come out swinging in Dallas. The hard luck stories of the night went to MDK/WWR's Jiri Dostal and Chris Gosselaar. Dostal has finished 10th in 6 Supercross class heat races this year, just missing a direct shot to the main event. Gosselaar had a qualifying position in sight up until a fall in the last corner ended his night. Both are riding really well but need a little luck in the next upcoming rounds.Of the 11 MDK/WWR riders pitted out of the DeCal Works Hog Haven, 9 made the evening program. The Ride Smooth Award, presented by Smooth Industries, went to Ryan Mills as the top Lites finisher. In the Supercross class Heath Voss finished a respectable 14th in the main. Manu Rivas ran as high as 10th before a get off late in the main ending him up in 20th.Catch the MDK/WWR team in Toronto, Canada on March 22nd and remember to support your favorite privateer by purchasing a 2008 Team Warthog t-shirt from Smooth Industries at: http://www.smoothindustries.com/clothing.comPlease visit our websites at http://www.MDKMoto.com, and http://www.WonderWarthogRacing.com
