Rockford, IL - Toyota AMA Arenacross Series Saturday Results - Dirt Rider Magazine

AURORA, Ill. (December 1, 2007) - The Toyota AMA Arenacross Series occupied the MetroCentre for its second night in a row. Although the Rockford area was hit with a winter storm, thousands of Arenacross fans were treated to an exciting night of racing.Yamaha's Kevin Johnson earned $750 by winning the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Hole Shot Award ahead of Team Babbitt's Monster Kawasaki's Kelly Smith. Smith gained the lead just after the first turn and led 11 laps before allowing Honda's Josh Demuth to pass. Demuth never looked back to win the main event. Kelly Smith challenged Demuth on the final lap in the woops, but lost control dropping him to fourth. Kevin Johnson and Honda's Chad Johnson passed Smith finishing second and third respectively.Defending Toyota AMA Arenacross Champion, Danny Smith, had his second bad night in a row finishing tenth.In the Toyota AMA Arenacross Lites North Main Event Travis Sewell outlasted Kurtis Mccabe to win his second in a row.The regions top amateur riders will be at the MetroCentre tomorrow.
