AURORA, Ill. (December 28, 2007) - Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc., producers of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, have announced the return of the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) Jeremy McGrath Scholarship."I am really pleased to be part of the MMI scholarship program - it's great to see just how many people apply for these scholarships and how capable many of those applicants are," said McGrath. "It's always super interesting when it gets down to the final four but then hard to pick just one recipient."The MMI Jeremy McGrath Scholarship has been designed for students with a passion for working with motorcycles to submit an application and a two-minute DVD expressing why they should receive the scholarship. One winner will be selected and awarded $20,000 toward the program of choice at MMI campuses in Phoenix or Orlando. MMI is a provider of technical educational training for students seeking careers as professional motorcycle technicians."This scholarship is going to once again change someone's life. Each year, Jeremy takes the time to select the right person to receive this MMI scholarship for the right reasons," said Terry Emig, director of Motorsports and Event Marketing for MMI. "That has been proven by the tremendous success of the past four recipients, who are all doing incredibly well with their training from MMI.""The MMI Jeremy McGrath Scholarship supports the sport on a very important level: The technical side of supercross," said Todd Jendro, senior director of supercross, Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc. "The scholarship is for someone looking to start a career in motorcycles, or for the person looking to get into working on race bikes at the highest level."The MMI Jeremy McGrath Scholarship enters its fifth season of association with Monster Energy Supercross.
