Moto XXX & Brazil Motocross of Nations - Dirt Rider Magazine

After a 20 year hiatus from racing in the United States the Motocross of Nations is back! This weekend marks the first time this historic race has taken place on US soil since 1987 when Bob Hannah, Rick Johnson, and Jeff Ward led team USA to victory. For 2007 the MXoN will be held at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Southern Maryland. Budds Creek was also the home to the fourth round of this year's AMA Motocross Championship and with new additions to the track the racing should be epic.In an effort to help out their fellow Honda teammates, team Moto XXX will be supporting the Brazilian Honda national team this weekend at the MXoN. When asked how the arrangement came about, team manager Allan Brown explained; "Honda Brazil contacted American Honda to see about getting support for the race. American Honda then got in touch with Moto XXX about helping out Brazil and it sounded like a very unique opportunity for our race team. Over the past few weeks we worked with members of the Brazilian team and were able to put together a program to help get them to the race. We will be supporting them with our semi, bikes, parts, race staff, and anything else we can to ensure Brazil is as competitive as possible."Leading team Brazil will be four-time Brazilian national champion Antonio Balbi. Balbi has become a familiar face on the AMA circuit as he has earned many top finishes this year aboard a privateer Honda. Competing in the AMA Supercross and Motocross series' this season, Antonio garnered a personal best 11th place in the second moto at the Hangtown national and will be Brazil's Open class pilot aboard a number 136 Honda CRF 450.Next on the roster is the current Brazilian MX2 motocross champion; Silva Leandro.
