AMA Motocross Championship 2007 - Dirt Rider Magazine

2007 Team Moto XXX Outdoor Line-Up Team Moto XXX, labeled as one of the longest running privateer race teams in history, has assembled a very talented group of riders to assist in their assault on the 2007 AMA Motocross Championship. The team is comprised of Motocross class riders; Kyle Lewis, Josh Summey, and Yoshihide Fukudome as well as Motocross Lites rider; Mitchell Dougherty. While Supercross and Motocross have evolved drastically over the past few years, there is still no disputing the fact that motocross is where it all started. Recently, many privateer teams have focused solely on the Supercross series and by the time May comes around those teams are no where to be found, but not Moto XXX. Team Moto XXX and their sponsors are focused on staying true to their motocross roots and have put together a strong group of riders for the 2007 Motocross season.Long time Moto XXX veteran, Kyle Lewis (AMA#23) from Henderson, Nevada, is looking to build upon his numerous top 10 finishes in last year's Motocross series. The 2007 season marks Lewis' final year as a full-time Supercross/Motocross rider and Kyle has hopes of going out with bang, grabbing many holeshots along the way.Hailing from Stanley, North Carolina, Josh Summey (AMA# 36) is looking to build upon his 10th place overall finish in the 2006 Motocross series. Summey has also found recent success in the wildly competitive Supercross class where he has placed well inside the top 10 numerous times throughout the season.Lites pilot and Japanese import; Yoshihide Fukudome (AMA# 952) comes to the states full-time for 2007. "Dome" made his first-ever Supercross Lites main event this year in Orlando and the 2005 Japanese National Champion is focused on earning many top finishes in his Motocross class debut.New Lites recruit; Mitchell Dougherty (AMA AMA#597) from Whitesboro, New York, joins the team following a very successful amateur career. Mitch is a former Team Green rider and looks forward to putting in some strong finishes in his first complete AMA Motocross Lites season. The AMA Motocross series kicks off May 19-20 at the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Sacramento, California. The 12 round series culminates September 8-9 at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California.
