The Festivities take place this weekend December 2-4, 2005 with doors opening at 6:00 pm to a Rock `N Race Pit Party on the arena floor where fans can actually walk the track that the professional motorcycle racers compete on. Opening Ceremonies are set to begin at 7:15 pm with pro racing starting at 7:30 pm."It is an honor and a privilege to have Governor Huntsman be part of our event," said Mike Kidd, Advanstar Race Director. "Governor Huntsman carries with him the same passion for motorcycle racing that is embodied in our series and we look forward to his being a part of such a great show in West Valley this weekend."The Governor is an avid fan and promoter of motocross and arenacross. He began riding dirt bikes at the age of 12 and started racing when he was 16 years old. The Governor and his family have ridden on numerous motocross tracks throughout Utah and he still races in the sportsman class on his Honda CRF 450. Governor Huntsman is the 16th governor of Utah and has served as the White House staff assistant to President Ronald Regan and was the youngest U.S. Ambassador to Singapore in a century.Arenacross racing is a specialized form of indoor motocross racing with more than 200 truck loads of dirt brought into the E Center to construct a man-made battle ground of jumps, berms and triple jumps.
