Teaming with well-known action camera specialists JonesCAM, Unadilla (July 16-17) will now feature two massive tented areas with large screen - 'live' - broadcasts of the Unadilla race from helmet cam angles from several pro racers - including John "Junkyard" Dowd."Since attending a NASCAR race at Watkins Glenn several years ago in which these same type of monitors were used, I have been searching for a way to provide big screen monitors for our fans," said Robinson. "I was introduced to Mike Jones, President/CEO of JonesCam, at the Albany Arenacross where we discussed my vision. The rest is history! Unadilla fans are going to be treated to a side of the Outdoor Nationals that has never been seen before."The initial test at Unadilla showed that the newly designed JonesCAM wireless systems delivered a clear video/audio signal from more than 90% of this world class track. The entire miniaturized wireless camera system is worn on the racer's helmet. The JonesCAM 480EX camera produces broadcast quality video and the wireless transmitter has a range of more than a half mile."We are thrilled to be a highlight for the expected 20,000 plus fans and when this nationally race is televised on OLN," said Jones. "Further, the opportunity for riders to showcase their skills for their sponsors, fans and family live our monster screens and then on OLN is sure to create a huge buzz."To bring the live action to fans, JonesCAM will place and staff two tracking antennas on the Unadilla track. The tracking antennas will broadcast the JonesCAM footage from the racers back to a video control station where it will be edited and sent to the two key spectator locations (video tents) around the track. The audio/video feed will be projected on huge screens housed in these two specially-prepared 20'x30' tents. The same live POV feed shown in these tents will also be provided to the OLN production crew covering the race for their use during their coverage of this prestigious race.In addition, the tents will feature the Cool Down Misting System in the back of the tent, with the massive live viewing screen in front. There's also an effort to get the AMA's @theWire LIVE! transponder timing and scoring system results to crawl across the bottom of the screens.JonesCAM has a who's who list of clients and end users that include Harley Davidson, The Blue Angels, Kawasaki, Artic Cat, Red Bull, The World of Outlaws, ClearChannel Entertainment Motorsports, The SpeedChannel, FOX Network and venues such as the SuperBowl XXXIX, World and National Offshore Powerboat Races, World Championships of Enduro Motorcycles, Laconia Bike Week, Baja Off Road Races, and numerous stockcar and SCCA tracks and teams across America.
