Anyone interested in becoming an X Games 11 volunteer must be 18 years of age by August 1, 2005. The www.xgamesvolunteers.com website is accepting applications beginning June 15 for daily and XCEL volunteers.What:The X Games annually gather the world's best action sports athletes from five sports. X Games 11 will include BMX Freestyle, Moto X, Skateboard, Surfing and Wakeboard. The X Games are the premier and original summer action sporting event. The primary function of a volunteer is to assist the spectators and credentialed guests during the event. Volunteers are expected to be proactive, helpful and knowledgeable hosts to spectators during their visit at the X Games.Volunteers will be privy to X Games 11 apparel, sponsor goody bags, snacks and refreshments and will also receive an invitation to the private X Games volunteer appreciation party. Additionally, XCEL volunteers who make themselves available for the duration of the event will receive an extra X Games 11 token of appreciation.In addition to the other items that volunteers will receive, there will be the chance to take part in a daily raffle of items donated by local and industry businesses. Businesses that donate items to be entered into the volunteer raffle will gain exposure by having their company name included on the volunteer website thank-you page and the on-site jumbotron at X Games 11. Where: Center and Long Beach Marine StadiumESPN and ABC will provide 14 hours of original LIVE X Games 11 programming from August 4-7. ESPN will also present four late-night highlight programs starting August 5, resulting in 18 hours of original programming for X Games 11. Also, for the first time, the event will air live on ESPN Deportes, ESPN's 24-hour Spanish-language sports network.
