Bobby Bonds of Team RPM Racing Injury Update - News - Dirt Rider Magazine

Bobby Bonds Injury ReportKTM, Maxxis, FMF, RPM Racing Team rider Bobby Bonds has been injured in a practice crash near his home in Maricopa, California. "I crashed in some soft, rutty soil from all the rain we've been having," says Bonds. "I'll be okay. I missed the first WORCS race in Phoenix, AZ but should be back for the 2nd round in Mesquite, Nevada."

The accident happened January 6, 2005. Bobby spent the night in the hospital and is being treated for a collapsed lung, broken ribs, broken collar bone and broken leg. Bobby had surgery on his collar bone and is resting at home. Updates will be posted on the team web site: www.rpmracingteam.com."It's been hard to keep my Pro riders healthy," comments Mike Hurlbert, owner of RPM Racing Team. Pro rider John Beal is still out from a broken neck injury suffered last year. Travis Krueger, the team's motocross pro, is also out with a dislocated hip and shoulder suffered in an arenacross practice accident last December. "I feel terrible for these guys, the team and our sponsors," adds Hurlbert. "I believe in these riders and I believe we will rebound and have some great results in 2005." Hurlbert continues, "We also have a great line up in all the other WORCS classes, including last years WORCS Women's A Champion, Maria Forsberg." Lastly, Hurlbert notes, "I wish Bobby a speedy recovery, the team will be there for him when he gets back to racing."
