The 5th Annual Impact Video Xtremey Awards Show - Feature Review - Dirt Rider Magazine

The Red Carpet was rolled out and filled in the early part of the evening with a who's who of extreme sports. Planet X, CBS and Fuel were on hand to catch some awesome interviews. It was an evening of inspiration, filled with delight, surprises and passion. One of the main highlights of the evening was The Honorary Achievement Award segment where the legendary off-road racer, "Ironman" Ivan Stewart received this high level award. Presenting the award to the "Ironman" was Mouse McCoy, star and co-producer of the sensational new film hit, "Dust to Glory".
Dana Brown producer of "Step into Liquid" (surf), and director/producer of the epic motorsports film, "Dust to Glory" was also on hand to present the Best Cinematography category for two amazing films. Dana, the son of Bruce Brown, the noteable producer and director of "Endless Summer" and "On Any Sunday", surprised Jay Schweitzer of Powerband Films, for his work in the all natural terrain MX Freestyle film "On the Pipe" and the collective films for their work in their mountain bike film also called "The Collective." GP Motorsports documentary "Faster" was given Best Documentary of the Year, while "Motorhead" won for Most Innovative.
Guest presenters included Erin Bates, Todd Colbert, Joe Bonnello, Ricky Johnson, Bruce Penhall, Danny LaPorte, Dave Duncan, Kevin Staab, Mercedes Gonzalez, Eric Carter, Victor Sheldon, Greg Albertyn and more. Docy Andrews had the honor of hosting the show with Co-MC, Malcolm McCassy. There were a few surprises too. Docy Andrews did a now-famous impersonation of Hollywood star and glamour girl, Marilyn Monroe. Ms. Monroe did an unforgettable rendition of "Happy Birthday" for a blushing birthday boy, Bruce Penhall. Bruce is a legendary world speedway champion and offshore powerboat racer.Travis Pastrana won again, this year for best performance (in Travis & the Nitro Circus 2) and also walked away with Best MX Freestyle video of the year for the same title. A special tribute and award were given to Fleshwound Films for 10 years of Crusty Demons. Dana Nicholson and Jon Freeman were on hand to receive the award from the "Godfather" of Freestyle, Mike Metzger.Producers, directors, riders and racing legends were there in force and the audience was filled with many other major industry folk from all the sports. It was an incredible mix of people representing mountain bike, BMX, skate, snowboarding, and of course, all the motorsports.
