At the start of Moto 2, both Dungey and Short were focused on putting their Yoshimura power on display. Both racers got a great start, and Short took over the lead as Dungey found himself in fifth place. Short started to pull away from the pack, and Dungey set to work on passing the riders in front of him. Eventually, Dungey cut the gap between himself and Short and then claimed the lead. Short finished behind him in second. With their great finishes, Dungey took the overall win as Short took second on the podium at the end of the day.
