With Josh Grant still out injured and Cody Mackie currently back in Australia, the DNA Energy Drink / Jeff Ward Racing team rolled into St. Louis for round nine of the 2012 AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship season, with Kyle Chisholm as their only rider for the weekend. Chisholm, who has been consistent all season long, was forced to come back from the 20th position in the SX Main to finish 16th after he got ran into the tuff blocks and knocked off his bike in the rhythm section shortly after the holeshot while fighting for position on lap one. Leading up to the SX Main, Chisholm finished ninth quickest in his SX Group A first qualifying practice with a lap time of 52.333 and then almost laid down a lap identical to that in his final SX Group A qualifying practice with a lap time of 52.393. That lap was good enough to put Chisholm 10th fastest to end the last session.

Those times put Chisholm 10th fastest overall and in SX Heat 1 with the fifth gate pick. In his Heat race, Chisholm got off to a great start and was running fifth before he took an unfortunate spill on lap 2. After gathering himself he battled back strong from the 12th position to finish ninth advancing to the SX Main solidifying the DNA Energy Drink / Jeff Ward Racing team's only entry of the evening.

Chisholm's 16th place finish in the SX Main keeps him 12th in series points with 82, sixteen points outside of the top-10. Up next for the DNA Energy Drink / Jeff Ward Racing team is Daytona for round 10 on Saturday, March 10th. A decision will be made this week regarding Josh Grant's possible return for Dayton
