Buttrick Finishes 2nd at Round 7 – National Enduro

_FMF/KTM rider Cory Buttrick finished 2nd overall at the seventh round of the AMA National Enduro Series in Upton, WY - KTM News Release

Upton, WY - FMF/KTM rider Cory Buttrick had another great finish at the 7th round of the AMA National Enduro Series finishing 2nd overall.

The event, hosted by the Inyan Kara Riders, was a mix of varying terrain. "The first section was really slick and nice, the second section was on a hillside and really dusty and the remaining sections were tighter with a load of trees and rocks," commented Buttrick. "Those trees didn't bend much either. My shoulders and hands are wrecked."

Buttrick started the event off well winning the first special test. "It always feels good to come out strong in the first test. I just felt really smooth." In the second test, Buttrick crashed twice after hitting stumps on the course he couldn't see due to the thick dust. "After I lost some time in the second test, I was anxious to make it up in the third test and rode a little over my head. I finally calmed down in the fourth and fifth test and by the sixth test I had my groove back and finished that test with the fastest time."

Reigning National Enduro Champion, Russell Bobbitt, had a decent day as well. Bobbitt was battling for 2nd position throughout the first half of the race but struggled a bit in the final half of the tests losing some time to the leaders. "The fifth test was pretty rough. It was really tight and the branches didn't move. It was painful through those trees and I lost some time through there." Bobbitt eventually finished the race in 4th position.
