AmPro Yamaha Race Report: AMA National Enduro Series Round 2

AMA National Enduro Series Round 2
Rider: Jordan Ashburn 5th Place (Pro Class)

This weekend the team made the short drive from South Carolina to Greensboro, GA for round two of the AMA Rekluse National Enduro Series. The pouring rain from the night before would leave the track soaking wet, setting the stage for one of the muddiest and ruttiest courses of the year.

AmPro Yamaha's Jordan Ashburn charged into the first section with total confidence, knowing that his factory prepped Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke was perfectly prepped for the situation at hand. After making it through the first check point, the top five riders were all within 8 seconds of each other. Unfortunately for Jordan, the second section wouldn't go as well as the first. The rear hub started breaking apart about half way through, causing Jordan to fall off the lead pace. After a quick rear wheel swap, Jordan was back out on the course, pushing as hard as he could to get back on the pace of lead riders. As the day went on, the young AmPro rider continued charging, making an impressive comeback finishing up the race in fifth place overall.

"I felt really good out there today," says Ashburn. "I love riding in the mud and I was having a blast until my rear wheel came apart. National Enduro's are all about keeping a steady pace and I still struggled a little today with that. Overall, I'm really happy with where I finished. Randy and Dale have put together an awesome bike and can't wait for the next round!"
