If you're familiar with MXGP, then you already know that Antonio Cairoli is an 8-time World Champion and has what it takes to push the limits to find success. At the Trentino of MXGP, did just that. Cairoli had taken the holeshot in MXGP Race 1 and soon found himself in second with the current champion Tim Gaijser passing him, which only drove Cairoli to dig deeper and push Gajser. Shortly after Gaijser made a mistake, Cairoli seized the opportunity, made the pass stick and took the checkered flag in Race 1 in front of his home country.

It was the current champion who claimed the holeshot pushed Cairoli wide, then in turn 2 Cairoli had a mishap leaving him in 22nd at the beginning of MXGP Race 2. He was not having it, the Italian would not allow this blunder to seal his fate of Race 2. Cairoli's peripheral vision went out the window and he set his sight on taking the overall. It seemed he found an extra gear where he was able to charge hard passing many of the top riders to place second in MXGP Race 2 behind Gaijser. The finish would secure the overall win for Antonio Cairoli.
